Thanks to several years of data from our RFID Snow Cards we know what percentage of our guests each day are Season or Life Pass holders. It varies a little day by day, but generally 5-10% of our guests are Life Pass holders and 20-30% are Season Pass holders.
These statistics also come from a time where we sold more Season Passes, for 2021 we capped our Season Pass numbers to 20% less than last year.
Each day we have Bookable Parking in place we will hold back enough car parks to cover the percentages above as well as some contingency (and if we end up having held too many back we will release these on the day for Instant Booking with the general public). In the unlikely event we under allocate for these groups we would operate a “one in, one out” approach until 12pm. This plan will require the driver to be the Life Pass or Season Pass holder, for ease of processing at the control point on the ski area access roads.
Bookable Parking is in place from 7am to 12pm on Saturdays and Sundays between July 31st and September 5th.
The important thing for Life and Season Pass holders to do is to ensure that you have your Snow Card on you before coming through the parking control point- make sure that your profile (and importantly your photo) is up to date on your account at www.mtruapehu.com, for help with this check out How do I update my contact details, or submit pass photos/ID? – Mt Ruapehu or our team would love to assist you here Mt Ruapehu - Contact & Info
